Hi All,
we are considering using Tempo Plugin - 7.6.3 ENABLED for our resource allocation process.
During our PoC we have discovered that to create an allocation you automatically have a right to approve / reject them. In other words it is impossible to model a situation in which PMs demand resources and it is up to line managers to accept it or not. What we ended up is a situation in which PM can both create an allocation and approve it :( Have we missed something?
Very appreciate your assistance,
Bart
This would be a very helpful feature!
The scenario you describe is not possible in the current version of Tempo Timesheets. We are working on improvements of the Tempo Permissions and have an issue where we collect improvement ideas for the Plan Time Approval process. Plan Approval is a labs feature and all feedback is appreciated.
Please take a look at https://tempoplugin.jira.com/browse/TT-19and add a comment/ vote so we can complete this as a full feature in Tempo.

Hi Bartosz,
the reviewer list of plans created in Tempo Timesheets consists of all Team leaders from all Teams that your PM is a Team member.
So, to avoid that a PM can approve his own plans, he must not be a Team member of a Team that he is the Team Leader in.
Please take a look at https://tempoplugin.jira.com/wiki/display/TEMPO076/Planning+Approval+Process(bottom of the page) for more information.
Kind regards,
Susanne

Hi Susanne
and thank you very much for your kind reply. What you presented confirms what we have suspected:
· the approvers set consists of all Team Leaders from all teams, where John Ordinary is in the Team Member role.
· you can not approve your owb allocations.
Still, our problem is that we want a situation in which a PM (project manager of a temporal endeavor) can create allocations for John Ordinary and only John’s Line Manager can approve it or reject. Unfortunately, to create an allocation, PM have to be a Team Leader what makes him in turn capable to approve the allocation (a kind of vicious circle, indeed).
Still hope that we have missed something and looking forward to getting assistance.
Regards,
Bart
