On my Win7 32bit machine, the webdav network drive functionality works like a champ. But on my other Win7 machine the 64bit version of Win7 is installed - and doesn't allow the webdav access.

Any solutions on that?

I experimented with many ideas like site security, regedit authAccess, ... but nothing solved my problem.

Hello,

I solved my issue... so I share my solution: 2 keys was involved on registry.

Using this documentation to configure a Network Drive I found the last think to do (B) : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Configuring+a+WebDAV+client+for+Confluence#ConfiguringaWebDAVclientforConfluence-ClientSetup

Best regards

Robert

Windows Vista or 7

  1. Click Start; type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit.exe in the Programs list.
  2. Browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters key.
  3. Find a DWORD/REG_DWORD entry named BasicAuthLevel.

4. In the Value data box, type 2, and then click OK.

The mapping for BasicAuthLevel is as follow:

    • 0 - Basic authentication disabled
    • 1 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL shares only
    • 2 or greater - Basic authentication enabled for SSL shares and for non-SSL shares

Customer shared a tips that would prevent Windows in passing null usernames as described here:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/network-share-not-working-through-windows-7-home/cc7adcd8-5380-4a48-89ed-bde1125c5f2f

How to do it:
1 . Open registry editor ( Start search - regedit)
2 . Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3. Create a new DWORD value with the following properties:
NAME: LmCompatibilityLevel
VALUE: 1
4. Restart your PC and try the connection again...

Hello,

The native webdav windows client is kind of buggy. If I can recall, it only worked properly in Windows 2000, and I have seen problems on it since them.

So, I strongly suggest you to use Cadaver instead of the Windows native client. It's the most efficient dav client I met.

Best regards,
Lucas Timm
