Top 3 needs - Delete confirmation & history, Improved edit boxes/display area, Trackable work from Test Step level

Hi-

After over 6 months of usage with Zephyr for JIRA, we have found the following three needs as our top priorities. Can you please let us know when, if ever, each one will be implemented? I'm facing much resistance to continued use of the tool because of the top 2, and the third is critical for management purposes.

  1. Delete confirmation & history - The fact that changes to Test Steps, Expected Results and Test Data are not ever stored and deleting a Test Step is permanent, there absolutely MUST be an "Are you sure you want to delete?" prompt when someone clicks the garbage can icon. Way way way too many Test Steps get deleted on accident, and this is severely detremental to productivity. Not to mention morale... who wants to lose work permanently after accidentally clicking one button that is extremely close on the page to the Edit button???
  2. Improved edit boxes/display area- Any Test Steps or Expected Results that are more than a couple lines in length become so unruly to edit in JIRA that most of my Test Engineers have abandoned creation and editing of tests in Zephyr for JIRA. Suggestions include:
    1. Allow the edit box area to be larger/expandable so that the view while writing/editing is much more user-friendly when needed due to the amount of content.
    2. Do the same with the display of saved Steps/Results/Data fields. The fields are just far too narrow and wrapping causes readability to become very painful when there are more than one or two lines in the field, which we almost always have.
    3. Save a history of all changes/updates made to Steps/Results/Data fields, just like JIRA does for basically all of its fields. This is extremely valuable to our organization.
  3. Trackable work from Test Step level- many have already requested the ability to assign test executions from a Test Cycle, instead of just the parent Test issue itself. This is also critical to our continued use of Zephyr for JIRA. Additionally, we'd like to see the following:
    1. Chart/Gadget for dashboards that displays stats based on execution of individual Test Steps by user
    2. Chart that displays status of Test Executions assigned per user
    3. Chart with breakdown of status of all Test Steps (not just Test issues)
    4. Burndown chart of Test Steps (not just Test issues)
      1. There is way too much variance from Test to Test in terms of # of Test Steps to only look at the Test issue as a valuable measure of work/workload.

Thanks for your time and always quick responses. Again, please let me know when these improvements will be made, if ever.

Erik

FYI: We just went to Release 2.1.0.1459 and the Delete confirmation exists and works great!
