Hey there!
I'd like to create a simple project with a couple of swimlanes. I tried SCRUM and KANBAN but there is no sign of swimlanes.. I checked a lot on the web but I don't have any mention of it when browsing the settings..
Any idea why? If you could give me the steps to make it that'd be awesome :)
Thanks
Hi, @Maxime Guittet ... not knowing your background, you might be wrestling with terminology. As @Kseniia Trushnikova mentioned, you may be attempting to establish swimlanes in team-managed projects; your best bet is to switch to a company-managed project where it's easy to create swimlanes.
The terminology point I raised above is that when we migrated from our previous SAAS solution for managing our issues, we had to shift our understanding. Swimlanes in our previous solution were actually columns in Jira. In Jira, swimlanes are horizontal rows. I realize this may sound condescending, but it is not intended that way at all; we were confused over the switch in terminology, and I'm not entirely convinced everyone truly understands this when first transitioning to Jira.
Regardless, in a company-managed project board, swimlanes are pretty straight-forward, as mentioned above. Good luck!
Hi @Maxime Guittet,
Currently swimlanes are available for company-managed projects only. Maybe you're using a team-managed project? If so, here's a suggestion about swimlanes on team-managed projects: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17580 Vote and watch for it to follow its updates.
To add swimlanes on a company-managed project board, select more ... > Board settings and then click the Swimlanes tab. Here's more info: Configure swimlanes.
Hope it helps.
