How Structure plug-in can be used with saved JIRA filters?

I read the documentation about searching and filtering but still couldn't get it work. So I need more detailed instructions than the provided on this page:

Hi Peter, if you need to filter/search structure with a saved filter, you can use JQL

filter = "filter-name"
