Can I edit an issue in different project when status of an another issues is changed?

I am setting up an automation rule. I want that issue A creates issue B and isssue B update status of issue A.
: create an issue B from issue A of project --> success
: edit an issue A of project A when status of issue B is changed --> fail

Steps in the screenshot seems fine. Did you check the audit rule?

Maybe there is a different link type between the linked issues? Or does action user has rights to process (edit & transition? Also the linked issue can be in a different status for transition. You may check linked issue status with an if condition.
