My query is about automating JIRA issue creation. When new data/ new entry is made in the MIS that is available, it triggers an issue creation on the JIRA board automatically.
The title of your question mentions "another application", the atlassian applications have a fairly extensive public API, so IF you can get the data out of your "other application", you can create issues in Jira based on them with their API (here).
