Atlassian Plugin on VS Code, Images not showing in JIRA ticket

When I view JIRA issues in VS Code, using the Atlassian plugin, the images don't appear, and I only see a broken images box (see attached screenshot). 

I've tried restarting, and enabling/disabling the plugin.  I'm also using latest and greatest of VS Code (v1.36.0), on macOS Mojave (v10.15.5).

Other than that... the integration seems pretty awesome!

Any other ideas or suggestions?

2022 and same issue :( I always have to open the web version for this issue, making the extension pretty redundant
