I have 34 custom fields with unique names but the values/options of 34 fields are same.
Is there a way, where I can have a template kind of thing which I can use to create these fields?
Note: Field name is alone different but field values are same.
Hi @Nic Brough _Adaptavist_ ,
Below is my csv sheet.
I have a test project.
I tried creating 'Select List (single choice)' Field with name to match the name from CSV (WPCL01:Rahini field1) but it is not allowing me to create this field with choosing the options. Kindly help!
I'm afraid there is no simple way to do this, it's an unusual thing to do, and hence no-one has written any code to do it.
(It's unusual because it sounds like the data structure is the wrong way around, and you probably shouldn't be using 34 fields, but obviously, I can't say that is the case without knowing what you're trying to represent with the data)
If you are an admin, I think the CSV import may allow you to work-around this - create a spreadsheet with one line per value you want to import, and 35 columns, such that:
|Summary||Field name 1||Field name 2||Field name 3||etc|
|option 1||option 1||option 1||option 1||option 1|
|option 2||option 2||option 2||option 2||option 2|
If you import that into a temporary project, you can tell it to import the options for the fields into them. (Obviously, you'll need to create the temporary project, and the 34 select lists, but you won't need to type in all the options)
