According to the documentation that I can find, the json-rpc URL should be:

https://myhost.atlassian.net/jira/rpc/json-rpc/jirasoapservice-v2

I have also tried lots of variants:

https://myhost.atlassian.net/secure/rpc/json-rpc/jirasoapservice-v2

https://myhost.atlassian.net/rpc/json-rpc/jirasoapservice-v2

And quite a few others. I keep getting 404 errors on every url I can think of trying.

I wanted the json-rpc url, but the answer was helful nonetheless. I used /rpc/json-rpc/jirasoapservice-v2 and that worked fine. I don't know why it gave me 404 the other day, but apparentlty today it is working.
