Unable to select existing Project to Share settings when creating a new company managed project

Kira McCoan May 3, 2024

I am attempting to create a new company-managed project in Jira (Software/Service Management) Cloud using existing project settings. Despite enabling the "Share settings with an existing project" option, the base project is not listed when searched to select the project as template.

I am an administrator in the base Project that I want to choose as an option:

What am I missing here?

Turns out the group I was added to didnt have the "Browse Projects" permissions in the permissions scheme associated with the base project

Hello @Kira McCoan

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Can you double check the Type of the base project by viewing that information in the View All Projects page under the Projects menu, and confirm that it shows there as Service Management vs. Team-managed Service Management?
