I want to create an Issue Field that lists all the Linked Issues of a ticket.
I created a custom field called Linked Issues Summary (paragraph type). I then created an automation:
Trigger:
When: Issue Linked
Type: Blocks
Action:
Then: Edit Issue Fields Linked Issues Summary
It hasn't worked so far and I hope someone can help.
Hi @Mervyn Dogeno -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
What problem are you trying to solve by doing this when the linked issues are already shown in a list in the issue? That is, "why do this"? Knowing that may help the community to offer additional ideas.
Until we know that...
Please consider that links may be added / removed for the issue, and so you will likely need two rule for those triggers.
And as a result, when updating the "linked issues summaries", I recommend completely replacing the custom field value from the linked issues rather than trying to add / remove values from the field.
Kind regards,
Bill
Thanks for responding @Bill Sheboy
We have Jira and Monday.com users. I am trying to get Jira to report back into Monday for Linked Issues so that Monday users can see dependencies. Monday board won't map the Linked Issue field.
I ended up creating a custom field and automation rules that consolidates linked issues into a paragraph-type field. I was then able to map this custom field into a Monday board's Text column. Monday users can now see dependencies.
Not sure if I did it right though. What I do know is that it worked. :)

Hi @Mervyn Dogeno
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Please try the automation shown in attached screenshot. Replaced {{customfield_xxxxx}} with the {{customfield_id}} "Linked Issues Summary" field id.
Thank you,
Ashish
