In the quick search, in the direct window below the quick search field, when we search a value contained in a customized field. The issue doesn't appear in the direct window. If we press enter, it redirects to the page 'Issues', and there, the issue appears in the list.
We would expect that the same list of issues appears in the direct window, like in the page Issue just after, and that the direct window considers the customized fields.
Thank you for your help.

It's a company-managed software project.
Here is an example;
Here I search the value '240562' in the quick search, and the issue doesn't appear. However, when I press enter, I am directed to the page 'Issues' and the issue appears in the list. The value '240562' is in the customized field 'Reference Number'.
Hello @Valerie Knapp
Thank you for your answer.
I've given all information you asked in the main text.
Thank you for your help!
Best regards

Hi @Nathanaël Rossel , thanks for the screens
Typically in Jira to search for things, you need to write the search with the Jira Query Language, or JQL - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/use-advanced-search-with-jira-query-language-jql/
While you're still learning, you can use the 'view all issues' option from the Filters menu and select the basic search, which allows you to build your own search by choosing the project, the issue type and other variables you would want to search by, such as custom field values or other issue attributes.
This is the expected behaviour, in other words, of Jira, if you don't use JQL to specify where you want it to look for a certain value, as in this case, of a custom field.
I hope this helps you.
Cheers

Hello @Valerie Knapp
The focus of my question is on the quick search not the page 'Issues'.
With the quick search in the direct window (without clicking on 'view all issues'), can we make it find a value from a custom field?
Best regards
Nathanaël

Hi @Nathanaël Rossel , not that I know of. If you want to search for a value in specific field, your best bet is to use a JQL search.

Hi @Nathanaël Rossel , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
Please can you share a screen of the issue you're having? You can anonymise it to remove any sensitive information. I'm just not sure what you are referring to.
Is this a Jira software or business project?
I'm not sure if you're trying to filter a list by a custom field or trying to search for issues by a custom field.
Best wishes
