Post function

I have a post function on a workflow that copies a Custom Field from the parent to the same Custom Field on the subtask. However, I am trying to set up a post function that will copy a custom field from the epic to a child issue. But, in looking at the post function, it looks like it only allows it to subtasks and not child issues.

Am I missing something?

I am sure this is possible with an automation rule, but I am limited on those, so ideally would like to do this in a post function.

Hi Jason,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I’m a Support Engineer at Appfire, here to assist you.

If you’re open to plugin suggestions for simplifying your process, I recommend trying JMWE for Jira Cloud.

With this, you can copy a custom field from the epic to the child issues.

Hello, Good day. Post function will help with sub-task issue type only. Automation rule is your best way to achieve this requirement.
