JIRA ticket getting winmail.dat file attached when replying

When I reply to a JIRA notification email from Outlook, the ticket gets a 'winmail.dat' file attached. How do I keep this from happening?

JEMH is plugin Mail Handler for JIRA, that amongst other things does provide you with the ability to filter nominated attachments. By default though, it already filters out the rather useless winmail.dat.

Unfortunately, you cannot disable the bundled JIRA mail handlers from attaching any attached files to your JIRA ticket without disabling ALL attachments altogether.

However, you can prevent Outlook from sending winmail.dat by following this Microsoft KB article, which explains how and why this file is being sent along!

Alternatively, you can use This Guide, but it is only applicable to each user locally.
