I have a free version of Jira for personal projects. I can't add a Task to Epic in the Timeline view. When I add a Task or Story, a "+" to add a subtask is visible as Child issue. I would like to have the same in Epic, but I cannot set it in the hierarchy settings

I would like the hierarchy of levels to look like this:
-Epic - level 1 (adding from the Timeline view)
-Story/Task - level 0 (adding to Epic from the Timeline view after clicking "+" and the dropdown is visible)
-Subtask - level -1

Currently, I can add a Child issue when I manually enter the created Epic, but it is not visible in the dropdown form in the Timeline view. Is there a possibility to solve this?

Hello @Paweł

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What type of project are you using? Do you see navigation options across the top, like this?

I suspect that you do. That would indicate you are using a Work Management project.

Work Management projects don't fully support the use of Epics. This is a known issue documented here:
