How to print tickets showing only the fields I want?

Sara Valoti SK May 23, 2024

Hi everyone :)
In my business I am using tickets in Jira as customer orders.
At the end of the process I would like to print the tickets as a "recap", but just considering only some of the fields (ex. only the title, the description, customized fields and the reporter).

Can I select the field I would like to print?

Use the Better PDF Exporter app to export only your preferred fields to PDF, and print the PDF with another click.

Alternatively, although I think PDF as a format is better suited for printing, use the Better Excel Exporter app that can do this through Excel (you mentioned this).

(Discl. both are paid and supported apps developed by our team. Free for 10 users!)

Hi @Sara Valoti SK ,

If you want to get the details in an Excel file, you can use CSV export in the issue search. To navigate to issue search and export all issues in your project as a CSV, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Issue Search:
- Go to your Jira project.
- In the sidebar, click on "Issues" or "Filters" and then "Search for issues".

2. Search for All Issues in Your Project:
- Use the search bar to filter by your project. You can type in the JQL: `project = "YOUR_PROJECT_KEY"` to list all issues in your project.

3. Adjust Column Visibility:
- Click on the "Columns" button above the issue list to adjust which fields/columns are visible.
- Check or uncheck the columns you want to include in your export.

4. Export as CSV:
- Once your columns are set, click on the "Export" button (usually located in the top-right corner of the issue list).
- Select "Export Excel CSV (current fields)" or "Export CSV (current fields)" depending on your version of Jira.

By following these steps, you will get a CSV file containing all the issues in your project with the currently visible fields.

Thanks,
Geethanjali

@Geethanjali Katagani @Danny Zuccaro Thank you!
Is this possible only with Excel or I can print the single ticket (with desired fields) even in the word format?

@Sara Valoti SK ,

It is not possible because there are no settings to select the specific fields. When we click on export to Word, it directly exports all issue fields.

@Geethanjali Katagani thank you very much!
