Hi,
I'm a full administrator on Jira and I want to change the username for one of the users and I followed the following steps:
1-Choose > User management
2-Search for the user or choose Show all users
3-Select the user you'd like to edit and choose Edit Details
4-Enter the new username and choose Submit
BUT I couldn't find where can I write the new name, please give me details where can I change the username
Thank you,
Ibrahem
Hello Ibrahem,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Since 2017 when the Atlassian account was introduced, administrators can no longer change the usernames and Atlassian is also GDPR compliance since May 2018.
With that said, usernames are not visible on Cloud sites anymore, only full names are visible.
Also, administrators can't change full names or email addresses. When something is wrong with their accounts, the user must log in on their profile on id.atlassian.com and change the information.
For administrators to be able to change the full name and email of a user, it's necessary to verify a domain, so proving that you own that domain, will allow you to change this information on behalf of the user.
If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.
Regards,
Angélica

Hi guys! Is there any plan to allow for users to change their own name/ admins to do it? I got married and changed my name 2 years ago and I still show up with my old name everywhere.

We're running into this problem more and more - 2000+ employees, and marriages/divorces are happening and we really don't have a plan in place how to change them.
