How to add past fix versions?

I'm trying to add a past fix version to a ticket. I can easily see that this fix version exists and has been applied to other tickets.

However, when I try to update a new ticket with this fix version, I can only see the past 30 released fix versions in the list.

Is this a known restriction? Is there any other way to associate a ticket with a past fix version? (Note: this doesn't work during bulk edits either).

Answered my own question:

I found that the previous fix version had been "archived." By editing the archived fix version and setting it to be "unarchived," I was able to add that fix version to the desired ticket.
