Hi,
used to be configuring kanban boards were you can easily map several statuses to the backlog column in the board settings.
However, in a sprint board driven project's board settings, this backlog column is missing. How can I add the currently unmapped statuses I created ("Funnel" and "Analyzing") to be backlog statuses?
Best regards,
H.
Hello @Harald Heinz
Welcome to the Community!
In Scrum (sprint-driven) Boards, the Backlog is not automatically in the Board Columns. However, you can find it on the left-hand-side called "Backlog". There, you see all issues unassigned to a status yet.
If you want to be able to see it in the Board directly and add statuses to it, you can do it like this:
I hope this helped,

Hi Mara, thanks.
Worked, guess I just didn't expect Jira to recognize a manually created + named backlog column and associate it with the backlog "functions".

Harald

Hi Harald,
Brilliant! I'm glad I could help.
In this case, it would be a great help to me if you could officially "accept my answer".
Thank you & best wishes,
Mara

done.
One final question: I did as you described and -by adding the column- the new Backlog statuses Funnel & Analyzing also show in the dedicated backlog view as intended.
However, this seems to make it mandatory to have the backlog column in the sprint board view from now on. Can the column be hidden?
Best regards,
Harald

Hi Harald
Unfortunately, you cannot hide columns in Jira Boards. So if you don't want them in the Sprint Board, you can either move the Backlog Column to the far left/right (least visible) or reverse the changes from before:
