How to add a Linked issues blocks via automation?

Ram Freedman December 2, 2024

Hi,
How are you all?
I want to create an automation that when a new issue is created will check:

  • If the issue.components.name = something then add a Linked issues blocks to a specific issue.
  • If not then to check if the issue.components.name = something2 then to add a Linked issues blocks to another specific issue.
  • If not then do nothing.

When creating the automation and the first IF I can see that I can choose between "Trigger Issue" or "Most recently created issue" - but there is no way to set  a start value or an existing issue link etc:

My goal is to select if we need to add a lined issue as bloks and then add it like this:

How can I do it?
Regards,

Ram

Hi @Ram Freedman

You should be able to input the issue key directly instead of "Trigger Issue"

Hi @Florian Bonniec
Thanks.
I don't see any way to do it.

This is what I see when I select "Trigger Issue":

And if I click on next this is what I see:

Sorry - my bad.
I now see that I can type there and replace the text

Thanks!

You just have to write it where Tigger Issue is wrote. It looks like it's a select list but in fact you can input whatever you want in it.
