How not to sync a required field within a story type screen to it's subtask screen

Hi - I created a customized field within my 'story type' screen and then made it 'required'. The only trouble is that now when we create subtasks under this story, the subtasks also demand this field, which is not what we want. How can we stop a parent required field from being required in the child screen as well?

It seems like you are sharing the same field configuration for parent issues and subtasks. You can create a different field configuration, without the required field, and associate it with the subtasks.

thank you, I think I resolved it :

(Wheel) -> Issues -> Custom Fields -> (field_name) -> (Wheel) -> Edit Configuration

Will confirm in the morning - thanks.
