How can I get and set a value for a single select custom field type in Jira cloud automation

I have a custom field: {{issue.My Field}} that is single select and the context has no default value.

I want to be able to set the option of the field to a specific option. Looking at the option, it's name is TBD. And the URL when hovering over the edit link, shows me that the option number id is 13741. How can I set the custom field to that value?

I was able to set it by using the component to Edit an issue. I selected the field and for the value I used the option id number that I saw in the URL when hovering over the edit link in the options update page of the custom field.

Can you give is your exact scenario/use case? What would trigger the field to be updated, for example?

Without seeing your specific rule details...

When you have the id for a single, select field option and want to set the value, please try advanced edit with JSON in the edit issue action:
