Getting error while creating a new issue type

Tried to create a new issue type in the project and got the error

Heading: couldn't add the issue type

Error message: Sorry, something went wrong and we couldn't add issue type. Try again.

Tried with admin account as well but it shows same error. 

I am trying to create issue types for Xray test management tool.

The issue types are not supposed to be created manually. The installation process is supposed to create those issue types automatically. You can explore more about the Xray installation here.

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

I see that since March this year, Xray supports next-gen projects, so the issue types should work.

Just to better understand the issue, since the error message is very vague, can you please open the developer tools on your browser while creating the new issue type? Please, send us a screenshot of the error that appears on the dev tools screen.

Is it happening if you try to create an issue type using a different name?

Are you manually creating this new issue type or is it the Xray that redirects you to this page with this option pre-filled?
