is it possible to give a regular user in Jira Software (he has an administrator role in one project) the ability to edit the resolution field?
Hi, you cannot change the value of the Resolution field once its set.
The only way is to add a self-reflecting transition from Status 'Done' to 'Done' with a transition/workflow screen containing the Resolution field in order to change it.
Attention: This is only valid for company-managed projects, not for team-managed projects.

While it is possible to add the Resolution field to the screen used for issue editing (in Company Managed projects), once the field is on that screen then Jira requires it to be filled in at all times. That means you would be forced falsely to set Resolution for issues that were not yet done.
What problem are you trying to solve by allowing the direct editing of the Resolution field?
And, are you working with a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?
