Can we create multiple active sprint and is it a good practice?

Yes you can enable parallel sprints in your jira site and to do so navigate to configuration -> products-> jira software and mark enable parallels sprint.
If your teams are focused on multiple objectives at the same time, it appears fine to run multiple sprints in your Jira Sprint Board.
