Backlog view shows Epics not relevant for selected version/release

In Jira Backlog view, when filtering by Version/Release, is there any way to filter Epics shown with Fix version same or unset? Our project has Epics that aren't valid anymore for current releases but there they are seen consuming space.

It sounds like you want to filter the backlog to show either the empty version or the current version. Is that correct?

To filter issues in your backlog by release, you can use the Version dropdown menu.

To clean up unwanted Epics, move them to a Done status with the appropriate resolution. This will remove them from the Epic Panel.
