I can include the SharePoint link to an email that gets generated when an issue is created. My question is can I shorten the URL that gets generated by SharePoint or am I stuck with using the long version of the URL? Thank you!

Hi @Ankur Amin ,

If I understood this correctly, you're sending an email (from Jira automation) when issue is created, and within this email you're sending link to a SharePoint site? Is this link/URL something that users enter when creating an issue, is it something that's dynamic based on the created issue itself, or something else?

Within content part of the automation action, you could format the content by using HTML elements/tags to format messages and to, for example, add a link to a text or something like that.

Apart from that, I don't believe you can natively shorten URL in SharePoint, nor Jira supports it (based on my knowledge). Here's a similar feature suggestion on shortening URLs: JRACLOUD-34645: url shortener for filters

Cheers,
Tobi

Hey Tobi,

That helped a lot thank you and didn't think that was possible with SharePoint and JIRA interacting.
