I have an automation setup that when a value is changed in a multi-select field a comment is added to the issue. Even though I have "Prevent duplicates by adding this comment once to a particular issue" if I delete a value then add a new value the comments are added again.
For example, when I select 3 values from the multi-select field 3 comments are added to the issue. When I delete one of the values from the multi-select field then add a new value then 2 comments that were already in the issue are added again (I didn't delete the comment) in addition to the new comment.
Is there a way to prevent his from happening?
Hi, Steve, could you share a screenshot of your rule?
If the message is customized/variable then it could be bypassing the "duplicate" check.
Are you changing the multi-select values from the issue view or from a screen?
It is a customized variable so that could be the issue. It’s also possible my testing scenarios won’t necessarily occur in how we operate. I’ll close this for now and see if it happens in the wild. So far, it hasn’t.
