Assignee should change to previous transition performed user

Hi Team,

My question is, I am changing status from open-in progress. It will assignee to some other user(for eg. project lead). Now Project lead changing status from in progress to close. During this transition it should assign to user who performed Open-In progress.

Hello @priym 

Jira will not do that by default. You will have to make customizations for that to happen.

One way to do that is:

1. Create a custom field you will be able to record the person who made the Open>InProgress transition.

2. Create an automation rule that sets that custom field when the transition occurs.

3. Create another automation rule that resets the Assignee to the user from that custom field when the issue transitions from In Progress to Close.
