I have a Parent issue with multiple child issues. When I try to drag two or three child issues from "to do" to "in progress", instead of just those child issues moving the entire parent issue, along with ALL of the child issues are moving. No matter what the status is. I cannot move the Child Issues individually to a separate status. What is wrong?
Hello @Naomi Casebolt
When you say you have a parent issue with child issues are you talking about an Epic with child issues or an issue with Subtasks?
Can you provide a screen image and point out the items you are trying to drag to a new status?
Trudy, I have a story with subtasks.
When I change the subtask to in progress and try to move to the in progress column the entire story and all other sub-tasks moves to in progress. You can see in these screen shots I have story PUD 194 with multiple sub-tasks. I have changed a couple to in progress. But if I try to drag them to in progress columns the entire story and ALL subtasks come along. I tried leaving the subtasks in To Do status and dragging them to In Progress column but that made no difference.
I must have something configured wrong or have an incorrect setting.
I can't find the issue. Thanks for your help. Naomi

Thank you for that clarification @Naomi Casebolt
I have done some experimenting with issues with subtasks in a Work Management project, and I see the same behavior.
I believe the design of Work Management project is to keep the subtasks displayed in the board with their parent issue even when the status of the two differs. The subtasks are nested within the parent issue card. The subtasks are not separate cards on the board.
The parent card can be moved between columns to change its status. Subtasks cannot be moved between the board columns. When you click on the card notice that it highlights the whole card, not just the subtask.
When you drag the card you are dragging the card of the parent issue, not the subtask.
