I wanted to create a reusable template which tracks the different steps required to onboard a client

We have a SAAS platform with white-glove implementation processes.  Currently, our template is in Excel and we want to use an Atlassian tool to better organize each onboarding.

The onboardings are 90% the same steps, with some tweaking required for each customer. I want to create or use a template that can help organize internally and report back to the customer our progress.

Any suggestions on the best Atlassian product to use?

Hi @Christina Holmes

If you want to use it on the Create issue screen, which is more user-friendly solution, I recommend you to try our app: Issue Templates Agent for Jira. With this app you can create templates for your standardised issues. When user wants to use the template, it's simply selected from the Template field and all values are prefilled on the form.

But one more question: your question is created in Jira Work Management collection but I see that you wrote about "customers" what is specified for Jira Service Management - another Atlassian product. Could you please which product do you use? Or have plans to use?

Thank you for the link Kate! We are open to using any of the Atlassian tools if there is a different option that suits our needs. Really we want to streamline onboarding for our customers and create a repeatable process, the specific tools is not as important.

Hi @Christina Holmes and welcome to the community!

Our app Deep Clone for Jira can help you clone your templates and also make the necessary tweaks for your different clients. You can create your template as a project or just an issue hierarchy (Initiative ⇒ Epic ⇒ Task/Story ⇒ Subtask) and then clone them with Deep Clones' Project Clone or Epic/Tree Clone feature. To add the wanted tweaks, you can use our Clone and Edit feature to dynamically change or set field values. You can also use Placeholders and use the replace function to set for example a client's name in descriptions and summaries.

I know exactly what you are talking about Christina. If I recall correctly the question has been asked before with a slightly different formulation. Please contact me by email for further information. /Atlassian
