How can I set preferences so that my e-mail notice comes right away from Jira when someone else is m

Someone posts a comment basically that I should know about...I t takes anywhere from 30 to 40+ miniutes for me to receive the e-mail...can this time frame be shortened somewhere in Jira?  My e-mail is set for continuously checking for new mail Jira received.pngjira sent.png

What platform are you on? Jira Server? Data Center? Cloud?

It looks like it. So you would probably need to tweak that on your end somewhere since it is your configuration. I don't use Server so I am probably not much help with that. 

The other thing is to open a support ticket with Atlassian:
