How can we fetch the summary field id in jira?
I am unable to see the summary field in custom field
The core Jira fields like: summary, status, assignee, priority etc have constant ids that are guaranteed not to change. summary will always have the id "summary".
It gets confusing because there are some fields that are created by default but aren't technically core fields like epic link, epic name, epic color, start date etc.
If a field id starts with "customfield_" it's a custom field and its id can change across instances. Otherwise you can rely on the id staying the same.
I never knew this. Good to know! Thanks @Jared Kells

Hello @Pillai_ Aarthi
Why do you need the ID for the system field named Summary? For most purposes you can use the name for that field rather than the ID.

The question is about the Summary field, which is not a custom field and does not show up in the Custom Fields screen.
