I need to run Automation rules where Jira issues should not be closed or DONE till commit is done and commit id is mentioned by the user

Hi @SandeepSingh R

As mentioned by @Hauke Bruno Wollentin You can use Workflow Validator/Condition to fulfil this requirement. You can add any of it on the required transition and add a transition screen in which you can add your "Commit" field which can be filled by users manually while transitioning issue.

Hope this resolves your query!

The first one can be achieved using the Field Required Validator in the workflows transition.

Go to Edit Mode of your workflow -> Diagram view -> click on the desired transition -> click on Validators on the right side -> Add a Field Required Validator -> choose Comment as the required field.

I'm not sure if this is still present, but AFAIR without a plugin like scriptrunner you can't check if the comment is just whitespaces or so.

I'm also not sure if I understand the "commit id is mentioned by the user" part correctly.

Should a user refer to another comment in the closing comment?

Go to Edit Mode of your workflow -> Diagram view -> click on the desired transition -> click on Validators on the right side -> Add a Field Required Validator -> choose Comment as the required field.

I am not getting this option
