We have used Jira (standard) and recently upgraded to premium so we can test our software to test issues above epic. We created issue type called "Initiative" and we were able to setup so epic is a children of "Initiative". From Jira we are able to create issues (epic) and link (intiative) as parent.
In order derive the hierarchy we use

However hierarchy levels are not properly reflected to understand. For Initiative we get hierarchy level = 0 and story which is two level below also returns hierarchy level = 0. What are we doing wrong?
