Hi i would like to set min and max work in progress limit in a status in hours instead of issue counts. is that possible if not what is the alternate option. give me step by step process that i could use in Jira software
Hi @C M LAKSHMI NARAYANAN , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question!
While it is a common request to be able to enforce an effort estimate or number of hours in progress, instead of a number of cards, I don't think this will be possible in the standard configuration of Jira.
What is the desired outcome? You would want, instead of 3 cards, to put a limit of 24 hours, or something like this? Have you checked the Atlassian marketplace to see if this is an app that could help?
Thanks for the reply @Valerie Knapp
My request is as a team leader i would like to assign issues/jobs to my members each one in a column with a limit. i.e. i cannot load them more than 9 hours a day. having each work item say 3 hours. but this changes as we have items categorised as
A=8 hours
B=6 hours
C=3 hours
D=1:30 hours & E=1:00 hour. please share yours comments with suggested plugins or apps in marketplace

Hi @C M LAKSHMI NARAYANAN , thanks for your reply. If you have a look in the Atlassian marketplace, you can search for key terms like, 'planning' or something like this. You can also write to the app vendors stating the features you are looking for and they can respond best with what would be possible or not.
