Why can't I create subtasks? States 'Support Category required'?

Trying to create a company managed service project and have been creating different workflows and field schemes for the different issue types but when I try to create a subtask in it shows:

Can anyone help please! 


I cannot locate this 'support category'?

Hi Charlotte,

I have to say that I have never seen that error before. You might want to go ahead and open a support ticket with Atlassian.

Please post back here with the resolution.

It looks almost like a required field in the field configuration scheme or a required field validator.

That's what I wondered @Kian Stack Mumo Systems but can't seem to find it to be missing... I'll have to be systematic in my checking...

Ah, I misread the error - yes, I think @Kian Stack Mumo Systems is right. There is a field that is marked required in the Field Configuration most likely. And you won't be able to populate it using add sub-task function on the screen like you are using.
