When trying to log time on a Closed task it gives a generic error

Silent Games Customer Support May 5, 2021

Hi there,

A team member has forgotten to log time on a task and has closed it, but once closed, they cannot log time on it. They get a generic error stating;

We couldn't save your changes

Check your connection, then give it another try.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

Hello @Silent Games Customer Support

Welcome to the community.

Does it happen for this user on all Closed issues?

Does it happen for any other user trying to log time against a Closed issue?

Does the workflow for Closed issue include setting the property that prevents the issue from being edited? That might be blocking the logging of time against the issue.

The properties are very granular so it is possible to block time-logging whilst leaving all other edits available. Check the properties for the Closed status in the workflow you're looking for jira.permission.work.denied
