Use Jira Automate to create a story and sub tasks in project separate from parent trigger issue

George Wolf May 24, 2021

Hello,

We are attempting to use a manual trigger off of a Jira record to create a story and sub tasks that are linked back to the parent trigger item but will reside in a separate project.

See below for the current design.

We are unable to add any branching activities between the create new story and creation of sub tasks. Is there a known workaround for this or a different way to configure the flow so that we would be able to:

Create a story in a different project than the trigger issue -> Create and associate sub tasks to the newly created story which is in a different project than the parent trigger issuu.

@George Wolf You should be writing the rule as a Global one, with the projects involved added as the scope of the rule.

Multiple project automation rules will have some execution limits based on your cloud subscription plan.

Thank you, @Gikku that was indeed the issue.
