Time Spent to accumulate only for specific time period

Shayne Miller December 21, 2020

I know there are tons of this same questions but looking for an answer other than using a 3rd party add on.  I am trying to find a way to be able to see how much time was spent on issues for a given time range.  I can filter down to worklogAuthor and worklogDate but would like to find the time spent during that worklogDate as well.

Is there something missing in a JQL query that I can do in order to only see TimeSpent on an issue for that time period?  Is there a way in Jira to build a custom report somewhere that I am missing.

Hi @Shayne Miller  -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You may be able to do this using automation rules, as the {{worklog.timeSpent}} and {{worklog.started}} values appear to be available.

Please see this documentation about automation rules to get you started.

@Bill Sheboy ... thank you for the suggestion.  I will look around in there as I have never looked at the automation part and see if I can get that to work.

It is unlikely you will find an easy solution without using a marketplace app but I'll watch this question in the hope of being pleasantly surprised.
