Server to Cloud Migration - Are all data fields / timestamps kept?

Andrew Serio December 30, 2020

Hi,

We are working in a server environment and will need to do the migration to cloud at some point.

When going from Server to Cloud, does the migration:

- Keep all timestamps associated with the ticket history, comments, state transitions, etc.

- Retain the same ticket IDs

- Migrate all linked documentation

Is there anything that is lost or not able to be migrated when going from server -> cloud?

Thanks.

Andrew,

Welcome to the community.  Yes it will retain information from server when you migrate to cloud.  If you have a cloud project with the same project ID then it will not retain the same ID.  Linked documentation depends on how it is linked.  I am assuming that you are starting with a fresh cloud instance.

I would suggest following this guide as it will provide some great step by step instructions on how to move to the cloud.  https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/use-jira-site-import-to-migrate-from-server-to-cloud-972349848.html
