Linked issue icon on cards?

ehaberman April 9, 2021

Would like to be able to see that a issue has linked issues or dependencies without opening the card. This is a standard Trello feature, that the card will have a little link icon, I'm now expecting in Jira.

Am I missing something or not using it right?

Hello @ehaberman for Company Managed projects (this feature is not available in Team Managed projects yet), it's possible to display the issue key for linked issues on the card - screenshot provided below for reference.

However, it won't signify what type of link it is (e.g. Relates To, Blocks, etc.). To add this, go to the Board Settings --> Card Layout --> Card Layout. From there, you can add Linked Issues field to the card.  When the issues are resolved/done you'll see a strikethrough.

Thanks for the quick response! While not giving me the icon exactly like Trello does it does very much look like it would work for what I'm actually looking for.

Does it take awhile for the linked issue to show up on the card?

I'm seeing it says None

I don't believe there should be any load time issues.  Have you tried refreshing the Kanban board and making sure one of the cards has a linked issue?

It's actually kind of working now. Kind of-  In one environment production it's working great, linked ID shows up on cards. In another, the sandbox, it says none for a while, then nothing shows up at all after refreshing the board. Luckily I'm the only one who would ever notice its broken in the sandbox, so you can guess how low priority that is.

Thanks again, 100x+ good help advice! :)

Ah perfect! I'm happy to hear it's sorted out for your production environment and we got it configured properly.  To keep our Community informed, would you be able to accept this answer?  🙂

Hi @Andrew Kendris, any update on when this feature will me available for Team Managed projects? It would be great to customize what shows on the cards - the options are very limitied for now.
