Jira custom filters on Scrum board not working

I have custom filters set up on my Scrum board for the members of my team so I can filter through and see what everyone is working on. However, some of the filters aren't working. I can see a team member's in progress issue on the board but when I filter by assignee and their name, nothing shows up. I've tried removing the filters and adding it again which didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

I believe I found a post from someone else that answers my question, looks like it's a Next-Gen issue
