Jira Software X Jira Service Management

talveen.nagi June 7, 2022

We have a paid version of Jira Software with around 20 agents. We are looking into Jira Service Management. Is this a separate subscription or can one be used off the agents from another?

Hi @talveen.nagi ,

welcome to the Atlassian community!

JIRA Software and JIRA Service Management are two differents modules of JIRA. You need to pay for each of them and define the user tier (could be different).

JIRA Software license is based on users

JIRA Service Management license is based on agents

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Hi Talveen - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Users are not Agents and there are no "Agents" in Jira Software - just licensed users.

If you add Jira Service Management, you will pay for each Agent that you set up. You won't need to make all 20 licensed users as Agents, which will save you money. But the Agents for JSM are an additional cost above your Jira Software licenses.
