I have two projects: CUS (Real one) and CPT (My Test one).
I have a rule which, when epic is created, it creates a task and then links that task to the epic.
In my CUS project, this does not work. Task is created but no epic-linking.
In CPT it works perfectly.
I'm really lost with this.
The left hand one works, the right does now.

In the Epic Link update field for Set value, type:
{{triggerIssue.key}}
Be sure to click on what you typed so it will actually stick it in the field.
That should work for you.

Because you were copying from the Issue (the child itself) and not the Trigger Issue (the Epic).
