JIRA Plan (Advanced Roadmap) - How to sort custom fields

Megan Olney May 24, 2021

I'm working on the JIRA Plan (Advanced Roadmap) and trying to get a custom field added and to sort. I read the following article saying that numbers and single select should be able to sort up and down.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/advancedroadmapsserver/sorting-issues-983502754.html

When adding them as a column I still can't get the "carrot" icon to indicate ascending or descending.

Any ideas on missing steps?

If I hover over the title, I get an up or down arrow, but it is only visible when hovering. Screen Shot 2021-05-24 at 3.37.37 PM.png

In this example, I hovered over Team and the arrow appeared. Is this working for you on your custom fields?

Thanks for the reply, I'm still not getting a way to sort even when hovering. I have the custom field setup as radio buttons.

Hi Megan,

From the document:

"You can sort issues by the values of the following custom fields:

  • number fields
  • single-choice select"

You may need to change your custom field to a single choice select.

Regards,

Sara

Thank you, I got it to work with the number field.
