When working on a ticket, the right side pane, which shows status and related ticket information, is too wide, with a bunch of wasted white space, and I'd like to resize it or hide it while writing the actual ticket. Is this possible?

Good find and thanks for bringing it up, as well as another, thank you @Jack Brickey & @nina_schmidt for flagging this one for us to review, I created the following bug report for some follow up:
Ultimately what is occurring is that when zooming out or using 16:9 wide (or larger) aspect ratio monitor the padding is set to scale to 100% in the margin padding but has a limit of 1400px on padding-left and padding-right margin inputs, so the whitespace is getting added in when using a standard monitor size, so we are looking at scaling up the value as a solution as it does not scale up any further.
Make sure to add yourself as a watcher on the bug to receive updates, and feel free to drop any comments on the bug report of how this is impacting your workflow as the feedback helps us out a lot.

@Earl McCutcheon Any idea when this issue will be fixed? Please look at my example below. On the right pane there is so much free space, and I can't resize it. The important information on the middle gets squeezed, and it makes it hard to read. The left pane is perfect because I'm able to resize it and hide it as well. I never liked New Issue View, but now I can't go back to Old Issue View, and it's frustrating. Please help.

I have the same problem. I want to see the logs messages posted in a ticket without having to use horizontal scroll bar since that makes it very difficult to make sense of the logs. These messages are in the middle pane which is too narrow. I have a widescreen monitor, but it's of no use. I would like to nuke the right pane and widen the middle pane to view the logs.

Thanks for your answer. I don't think it's related to the old view, as I've been using the new view for a couple of months. But in the last few days, I've noticed this right-side pane got wider. It used to be about 1/5th of the screen, now it's a little more than 2/3 of the screen. (See below, still an issue in 'old view'.) I just wish there was a way to hide the pane or push it to the right so that my 'workspace' could be larger.

Yes, there was a change made in the last week to move the field labels and values onto a single line on monitors wide enough. My users are also seeing the extra space issue, so thank you @Earl McCutcheon for posting the ticket. I'll be watching it.

Hi all, we are currently rolling out a way to resize the right hand side details panel in the new issue view. The change should reach all customers by next week.

So this is either an odd bug or a browser issue. What browser are you using? Have you tried another browser? Have you seen what others are witnessing in your instance?

Company dictates that we use Chrome. I do not think I have changed any settings; I have not made any system changes, but am connected to company auto-updates, so maybe they've done something with a Chrome update. I thought the issue must just be me, but asked around today and others in my company have the same view I do. and agree that the right pane got wider.

So I was just doing some testing in Chrome and then Safari and maybe seeing the same thing. TBH, I have never really noticed it before but the only way I see it is if I resize the window 'larger than necessary'. I don't usually have my browser at full screen so can't say when it started showing up. Let me ping some Atlassians to get their input.
