Is there a way to add items from the backlog into a sprint without Dragging and dropping

Deleted user May 11, 2021

I have a sprint created and I want to add items from the backlog. The backlog is fairly large. Scrolling through the list is a challenge to drag and drop. Is there a way other than drag and drop to add backlog items into a created sprint?

Also when you create a sprint does that automatically create the release?

You can right click and move them or you can  add the sprint to the sprint field of each issue.

Hi @[deleted]  -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Are you using a company-managed (classic) or team-managed (next-gen) project?  For each type, to add things to the sprint from the backlog view:

  • Company-managed: right-click on the item and Send To, selecting the sprint
  • Team-managed: at the right of the item, select the ... menu and Move To, selecting the sprint

And no, creating the sprint does not create the version.  You can automate this if you wish with an automation rule.

Best regards,

Bill
