Hi Soheila,

No, you cannot create a sub-task under a sub-task. For adding multiple levels like initiatives, you will need a Jira Premium subscription. But you still will not be able to do sub-tasks under sub-tasks.

Hi @soheila sarabandi Creating a sub-task for sub-task is not available in Jira.

The default hierarchy contains:  Epic --> Stories/Tasks --> Sub-Task

  • Epics - Once the higher level priorities are settled it's necessary to break them down into large pieces of work, which consist of multiple stories.
  • Stories/Tasks - User stories capture functionality requirements.
  • Sub-task - Work components that make up stories.

If you are using Advanced Roadmap plugin, you can create a hierarchy as mention in the below document

https://confluence.atlassian.com/advancedroadmapsserver0329/configuring-initiatives-and-other-hierarchy-levels-1021218664.html

hi @Sagar

thank you

about my question, If I want to use just Work Management Plugin of jira.

In this case what is your soloution

Is possible in mentioned plugin to create subtask for subtask

No, you can not do sub-tasks of sub-tasks with Advanced Roadmaps, they layer things around and above the epic level, they're not for micro-management.

The only way to do sub-tasks of sub-tasks reliably is with the Structure app.

There is no way to create a JIRA subtask for a JIRA subtask.

It is possible to overcome this limitation through the use of plugins. In our case, we are using the smartchecklist, and it has been enough to break down our subtasks into smaller subtasks.
